Join us for a dynamic, two-day Shakespeare workshop hosted at the Folger. Whether you’re a seasoned fan or looking to brush up your Shakespeare, this experience is designed to be fun, engaging, and full of surprises—no boring lectures or pop quizzes, we promise!
Dive into the fascinating world of Shakespearean bookmaking, explore rare materials from the Folger’s collection, and enjoy lively discussions where everyone’s voice matters.
This workshop is led by Founding Director of Education Peggy O’Brien, who, as one of the curators of the Folger’s Shakespeare exhibition, brings a deep understanding of Shakespeare and a behind-the-scenes perspective on the Folger collection.
Invited Folger staff will join her in sharing fresh insights into Shakespeare’s plays and poems, the historical context that shaped his work, and the publication and performance history of his works.
Get ready to explore Shakespeare’s language through interactive techniques taken from the renowned Folger Method, used in classrooms nationwide to make Shakespeare accessible, engaging, and fun for learners of all ages and backgrounds.
