Folger Theatre is hosting a Romeo and Juliet LGBTQ+ Affinity Night, on Wednesday, October 30 at 6:00pm, inviting members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community to come together for an evening of inclusivity, camaraderie, and theatre. Performance artist Princess Lockerooo will perform and lead a dance workshop. All are welcome!

Please note: Doors for the pre-show event are at 6:00pm. The performance of Romeo and Juliet begins at 7:30.
About the artist
Princess Lockerooo
Princess Lockerooo (Samara Cohen-O’Neal) is a highly accomplished artist and leader in the field of dance. As a fellow of the RSA she has received numerous accolades, including a Bessie award for breakout choreographer and a nomination for sustained achievement. Princess Lockerooo has successfully spread waacking to dozens of countries utilizing it as a powerful tool to build communities, promote self love, and invoke confidence.

About the play
Shakespeare’s timeless story of star-crossed lovers is also a story of the politics of warring families and the violence that consumes them. When all the systems meant to protect and guide a pair of young lovers—familial, religious, and governmental—fail them, can they find a way to safeguard their future despite the chaos around them?
