Books in Progress Fellowships
- Two-day workshop in Spring 2025
- Applicants must have a preliminary draft of their full manuscript complete at time of application
- Applications open July 2024
The Books in Progress Fellowship is designed for early career scholars who lack institutional support for book manuscript review.
Long-term Fellowships
- Nine months of full-time research support
- Up to three months of the award may be taken virtually
- Terminal degree required
- Applications open September 15, 2024
Long-term residential fellowships are designed to support scholarly research projects that would benefit from significant primary research onsite at the Folger.
Long-term Public Humanities Fellowships
- Nine months of full-time research and public humanities implementation support
- Up to three months of the award may be taken virtually
- Terminal degree not required
- Applications open September 15, 2024
Long-term Public Humanities Fellowships are designed to support significant, full-time research and public humanities project implementation for Folger audiences.
Short-term Fellowships
- One, two, or three months of scholarly research support
- Fellowships may be taken onsite, virtually, or a combination of the two
- Open to ABD PhD Candidates, or international equivalent
- Applications open October 15, 2024
Short-term applicants may apply for 1, 2, or 3 months of research support. The requested months may be all onsite, all virtual, or a hybrid of the two. Artistic Research Fellowships
- One, two, or three months of research support
- Fellowships may be taken onsite, virtually, or a combination of the two
- No formal degree required
- Applications open October 15, 2024
Artistic applicants may apply for 1, 2, or 3 months of research support. The requested months may be all onsite, all virtual, or a hybrid of the two.
