Wuthering Heights

1847
First Edition
Original Binding

Emily Brontë’s classic and romantic Wuthering Heights ranks consistently among the three best-selling novels in the English language. It recounts the impact of the complicated hero Heathcliff on the Earnshaw and Linton families in a remote Yorkshire district at the end of the 18th century. Early reviewers of Wuthering Heights rejected its value, but since then it has become recognized as one of the most extraordinary novels of the nineteenth century. This copy features the signature of Mary Taylor, a friend of Emily’s sister Charlotte Brontë, on the front endpaper of each volume.
