Synopsis:
In Ephesus, Thaisa decides to become a votaress at the temple of Diana.

1379 Madam, this letter and some certain jewels
1380 Lay with you in your coffer, which are
1381 At your command. Know you the character?
⌜He shows her the letter.⌝
THAISA
1382 It is my lord’s. That I was shipped at sea
1383 5 I well remember, even on my ⌜bearing⌝ time,
1384 But whether there delivered, by the holy gods
1385 I cannot rightly say. But since King Pericles,
1386 My wedded lord, I ne’er shall see again,
1387 A vestal livery will I take me to,
1388 10 And never more have joy.
