Synopsis:
King Edward, Richard, and Clarence are triumphant after the battle of Barnet, but they know they must now meet Queen Margaret and her forces at Tewkesbury.
Flourish. Enter King Edward in triumph, with Richard,Clarence, and the rest, ⌜all wearing the white rose.⌝
KING EDWARD
2619 Thus far our fortune keeps an upward course,
2620 And we are graced with wreaths of victory.
2621 But in the midst of this bright-shining day,
2622 I spy a black suspicious threat’ning cloud
2623 5 That will encounter with our glorious sun
2624 Ere he attain his easeful western bed.
2625 I mean, my lords, those powers that the Queen

Hath raised in Gallia have arrived our coast2627 And, as we hear, march on to fight with us.
CLARENCE
2628 10 A little gale will soon disperse that cloud
2629 And blow it to the source from whence it came;
2630 Thy very beams will dry those vapors up,
2631 For every cloud engenders not a storm.
RICHARD
2632 The Queen is valued thirty thousand strong,
2633 15 And Somerset, with Oxford, fled to her.
2634 If she have time to breathe, be well assured
2635 Her faction will be full as strong as ours.
KING EDWARD
2636 We are advertised by our loving friends
2637 That they do hold their course toward Tewkesbury.
2638 20 We having now the best at Barnet Field
2639 Will thither straight, for willingness rids way,
2640 And, as we march, our strength will be augmented
2641 In every county as we go along.
2642 Strike up the drum, cry “Courage!” and away.
They exit.
