⌜Scene 13⌝
Synopsis:
Cleopatra, in terror, flees to her monument and sends Antony word that she is dead.
Enter Cleopatra, Charmian, Iras, ⌜and⌝ Mardian.CLEOPATRA
2801 Help me, my women! O, he’s more mad
2802 Than Telamon for his shield; the boar of Thessaly
2803 Was never so embossed.
CHARMIAN 2804 To th’ monument!
2805 5 There lock yourself and send him word you are
2806 dead.
2807 The soul and body rive not more in parting
2808 Than greatness going off.
CLEOPATRA 2809 To th’ monument!—
2810 10 Mardian, go tell him I have slain myself.
2811 Say that the last I spoke was “Antony,”
2812 And word it, prithee, piteously. Hence, Mardian,
2813 And bring me how he takes my death.—To th’
2814 monument!
They exit.
