Nashville Shakespeare Festival kicks off its 30th anniversary season with Hamlet (Jan 4-28, Feb 1-3).
Baltimore Shakespeare Factory presents The Tempest (Jan 12-Feb 4).
Seattle Shakespeare Company presents the lesser-known Timon of Athens (Jan 9-Feb 4) for the first time in its history.
The Atlanta Shakespeare Company at the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse presents The Comedy of Errors (Jan 6-28).
Southwest Shakespeare Company in Arizona presents Romeo and Juliet (Jan 12-27).
Shakespeare in the Park Miami, the only Shakespeare-in-the-park group that performs in January, presents Hamlet (Jan 5-27).
Chicago Shakespeare Theater presents Red Velvet (Dec 1, 2017 – Jan 21, 2018), an award-winning play by Lolita Chakrabarti about the African-American actor Ira Aldridge and his history-making performance as the lead in Othello.
The Atlanta Shakespeare Company at the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse, Baltimore Shakespeare Factory, Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Seattle Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare in the Park Miami, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and Southwest Shakespeare Company are all theater partners of the Folger Shakespeare Library.
