Travel to Austria this autumn with Folger Theatre’s darkly opulent Amadeus. Written by Peter Shaffer and winner of a Tony Award for Best New Play, this engrossing story explores jealousy and sabotage within Vienna’s glittering 18th-century music scene. Folger favorite Ian Merrill Peakes returns to our stage to play the bitter Salieri, intent on destroying his musical rival, the electric and eccentric Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart played by Folger newcomer Samuel Adams.
