Toast the Season with DCanter's Mulled Wine

Folger Consort is thrilled to be welcoming back audiences for our annual holiday performances. A Baroque Christmas Story begins performances on December 15 and continues through December 22.

To celebrate this cherished Yuletide tradition, we’re bringing you a mulled wine recipe from our friends at DCanter. Join them 12pm-4pm, December 23 and 24, to try it yourself!

DCanter’s Mulled Wine

INGREDIENTS: 

• 4 ¼ cups (1L) Fruity, Dry Red Wine
• 2 Large Oranges, one sliced, one peeled into strips and juiced
• 1 ¼ cup (10 oz) Brandy
• ½ cup Dark Brown Sugar
• 2 Cinnamon Sticks
• 6 Cloves
• 3 Cardamom Pods

STEPS: 

1. In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients (except the orange slices) over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to high and bring to a boil, then immediately reduce to a simmer for about 30 minutes.
2. Strain and serve with orange slice garnish.
