Pablo Miguel Sierra Silva
Pablo Miguel Sierra Silva is Associate Professor of History at the University of Rochester.
His research and publications center on the experiences of Africans and their descendants in colonial Mexico, especially during the seventeenth century. His Folger project is titled In the Wake of the Raid: Piracy, Blackness and the 1683 Sack of Veracruz. The book entwines the Black history of Mexico, Haiti, and South Carolina through a microhistorical study of buccaneering, slaving, and survival.
