is NACBS-Folger Institute short-term fellow 2024-25, researching the working worlds of middling women in 17th-century England. She is using the Folger Shakespeare Library’s world-class collection of recipe collections to look for evidence of those compiled by young women who might have been at school or under the care of a governess or tutor at the time they were begun.
