Emma Marshall

was awarded her PhD from the Department of History, University of York in March 2024. Her thesis was entitled ‘Sick Bodies, Social Bonds: Health, Care, and Gentry Family Dynamics in England, c.1630-1750’. It was based on extensive analysis of personal correspondence, amongst other sources, from archives across England. Emma is a 2023-4 Short-Term Scholarly Research Fellow at the Folger Shakespeare Library, and a Postdoctoral Fellow of the Humanities Research Centre, University of York.
