Dates Friday, October 4 - Saturday, October 5

Venue Learning Lab

Tickets $300

Duration 2 Days

Join us for two jam-packed days of teaching and learning at the recently reopened Folger Shakespeare Library.

  • You’ll explore ways of engaging with Shakespeare’s language following the arc of learning. We’ll start with a word and work our way up to the whole play. It’s lively, messy, fun, and impactful. Just like learning. We’ll work with Shakespeare’s language and other complex texts. First as learners and then as teachers.
  • You’ll discover how this way of teaching and learning can transform your classroom. We’ll spend time on the nitty-gritty of how this works in the real world. No matter the class size or level. After this Weekend Intensive, you’ll leave the Folger with lessons and Essential Practices you can use in your classroom on Monday.
  • You’ll be among the first group of teachers to explore all that’s new at the Folger Shakespeare Library including the Shakespeare Exhibition Hall and the Learning Lab. We’ll dig into highlights from the collection, the First Folios at the Folger, and a brand-new 17th century printing press (we’ll explain how that works when you get here).
  • Included in your registration is a ticket to a performance of the Folger Theatre’s production of Romeo and Juliet. There’s a ton of buzz about the ideas in this production and we can’t wait to see it with you all!
