The rest of our building reopens Friday, June 21

We can’t wait to welcome you to our building on Capitol Hill after a major multi-year building renovation that will allow us to share more of our collection and resources than ever before.

The transformed Folger features two new exhibition halls, a learning lab, welcoming gardens, collaborative research spaces, and expanded visitor amenities such as a new café and gift shop. Along with our newly constructed public wing, the Folger’s historic spaces, including the Reading Room, will also reopen.

Planning a research visit?

The Folger collection is not available for on-site research during our building renovation, but we continue to serve researchers with digital resources, as well as fellowship opportunities and scholarly programs. Our Reading Room is reopening Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
